Retaining frames, opening sizes and door thicknesses vary. Their condition and construction need to be understood before choosing the replacement glazing.

Clear, textured or decorative glazing changes privacy and appearance. Existing designs may be discontinued, and the available glazing and frame choices must be compatible with the door.

Glass beside or above the door
A sidelight or transom may use a different glazing system from the door itself. Identify the exact location of the damage so that suitability and available scope can be checked separately.

Can I keep my entry door and replace its damaged glass?
That depends on the door condition and the availability of compatible glazing and retaining parts. The insert opening, thickness and construction must be checked together. A sound door is a starting point, not a guarantee that every insert will fit.
Does an insert with similar dimensions always fit?
No. The cut-out, overall frame size, door thickness, screw layout and retaining system can differ. A visual resemblance or rough measurement does not establish compatibility.
Can privacy or decorative glass be matched?
Share an overall view and a detail of the existing design if safe. Available textures, patterns and frame profiles need checking. If the original is discontinued, the possible alternatives should be discussed before an order is placed.
Are sidelights and transoms interchangeable with door inserts?
No. Fixed glass beside or above a door can use a different frame and glazing system. If the damage is in one of these areas, identify it in your enquiry so suitability and the available scope can be checked separately.
Will replacing the glass fix a door that sticks?
Not necessarily. Alignment, hinges, the door panel and the surrounding frame can cause operating problems independently of the glass. Include any difficulty closing or locking the door in the assessment request.
